Dedication

Knowles’ Public School No. 1, the handsome building but recently constructed at Winter Park, was last Tuesday afternoon formally dedicated. The dedicatory exercises were opened with prayer by Rev. E. P. Hooker, after which was an appropriate song by the school children.  Mr. L. A. Chase delivered an able historical address, and was followed by another vocal selection sung by the school children.  Superintendent Beeks and others then made short but telling and appropriate remarks.  The keys were formally presented to mayor Robt. White, who accepted and responded in a most happy manner.  Rev. Mr. Brown pronounced the benediction and the large crowd dispersed.  Winter Park now boasts of one of the finest public school buildings in the State.
